Ingredients:

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into 1.5 kg pieces
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp dried chili peppers (optional)
  • 1 tsp dried shrimp powder (optional)
  • 1 tbsp starch
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot, bring 200 ml water to a boil. Add the chicken and cook for 15 minutes, or until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
  2. Drain the chicken and add it to a large bowl. Add the light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, salt, black pepper, cooking oil, onion, garlic, ginger, dried chili peppers, and shrimp powder (if using).
  3. Add the starch to a separate bowl and stir until dissolved. Add the starch mixture to the chicken mixture and stir well.
  4. Serve hot with rice.

Tips:

  • For a richer flavor, marinate the chicken in a mixture of water, light soy sauce, and dark soy sauce for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
  • You can adjust the amount of chili peppers and shrimp powder to your taste.
  • Serve with a side of steamed vegetables, such as broccoli or carrots.
